Dipsophobia - An Abnormal fear of drinking or more commonly drinking alcohol. Associated with undue anxiety about becoming addicted to alcohol and the effect of this addiction on the body.
Alcoholism - Alcoholism is a multifactorial illness based upon possibly both genetic and environmental factors which is best explained as a continued detrimental use of alcohol or other sedatives despite one's best interest. It is a form of addiction, where addiction is defined as "compulsive drug use despite negative consequences" (Am J Psychiatry 2005; 162:1414-1422).
